Since its inception in the early 90s, Catalyst Records has been a label centered on ideals integral to the DIY and vegan-straight edge hardcore scene. The DIY ethic is a cornerstone of Catalyst’s foundation, an attitude of viewing the nice of hardcore music as one of participation rather than spectating. The l ultimate goal is to maintain a level of involvement that is highly personal, and as direct as possible, while working with bands both in the US and internationally.

As a label, we work with people and bands who share the same values, passion, and dedication: including but not limited to the ideals related to veganism and straight edge. The end goal is to ensure that a positive impact remains long after each release is out of print and that this record label maintains a space for promoting the ideals of DIY hardcore and the vegan-straight edge representation within that scene. We stand by the messages we help further, even after some no longer do.
